"My experience with Adventure Madness took us to Red River Gorge in Kentucky over the long Labor Day Weekend of 2010. Although it's somewhat of a lengthy trip from Metro Detroit to the Gorge, it was more of a laugh-fest than a road trip as the entire drive to Kentucky was nothing short of a blast. Arriving late in the day and too late to set up and start climbing, we found what turned out to be probably the best camp ground in Kentucky. That night we roasted some seasoned chicken Mirek brought over an open fire; I'm still trying to get that recipe from Mirek, it was that good! Give it up Mirek!

Day two we set out for the Gorge to climb some of the most breathtaking climbs on this earth. After breakfast we found our climbing route and set off up an easy 5.7 to warm up. Although Mirek and Agnes taught me all I know about climbing prior to our trip to the Gorge, it was my first time climbing outdoors. Both Mirek and Agnes ensured that safety on this trip was ever-present and of the highest priority. One learns how just important that is when the reality of climbing on mother nature stares you in the face. Nonetheless, I always knew that both Mirek and Agnes had a close eye on what I was doing during all climbs. With that in mind, the entire weekend was one that made me feel alive and hungry for more. Speaking of hungry, our evening jaunts to Miguel's Pizza in the Gorge was worth the trip alone....kudo's Miguel's!

I have to sincerely thank the team at Adventure Madness for allowing me to tag along and hope we share many more trips together. This spring I'll be trying my hand at skydiving with Mirek and Agnes along with more climbing trips.
